Stage 4 load shedding is destined to end, but when? This is the question on everyone’s mind as the country reels from the effects of Eskom’s power cuts. The power utility has been forced to implement stage 4 load shedding since December 1, 2019, due to a shortage of generation capacity. This has led to widespread blackouts, which have severely disrupted businesses and households.
Unfortunately, we do not have an end date for stage 4 load shedding at this time.
How long stage 4 load shedding?
Eskom has announced that stage 3 load shedding will take place between 05h00 and 16h00 daily, with stage 4 taking place overnight between 16h00 and 05h00. Eskom will announce any changes to the load shedding schedule as soon as they happen.
Stage 5 load shedding is now in effect due to a number of generating units breaking down. This will continue until further notice. Please make sure to conserve energy where possible to ease the load on the system.
How long stage 4 load shedding?
Stage 4 load shedding will double the frequency of Stage 2 load shedding. This means that you will be scheduled for load shedding 12 times over a four day period for two hours at a time, or 12 times over an eight day period for four hours at a time.
Please be advised that stage 6 load shedding will be implemented from 4pm on Wednesday continuously until further notice. Due to the severe capacity constraints, Eskom will continue to manage the limited emergency generation reserves to supplement generation capacity. Is Stage 8 loadshedding possible?
