We face difficulties in cooking food, running water pumps and fans and even studying at night. Although we have become accustomed to this problem, it still causes a lot of inconvenience. load shedding usually occurs due to the shortage of electricity. The main reason for the electricity shortage in our country is the gap between demand and supply.

How do I check load shedding in my area?

Eskom’s load shedding timetable is a monthly time table that is applicable for all months of the year. If load shedding is declared at a certain time, it will only be in effect for the remainder of the specified time period.

It’s especially useful for those who may be affected by power outages, as it can notify you in advance if the power is scheduled to go off. As you may be aware, the electricity grid is under a lot of strain at the moment. To help ease the load, we will be implementing a load shedding schedule.
Stage 2 of the schedule will double the frequency of Stage 1, which means you will be scheduled for load shedding 6 times over a four day period for two hours at a time, or 6 times over an eight day period for four hours at a time. Stage 3 of the schedule will increase the frequency of Stage 2 by 50%, which means you will be scheduled for load shedding 9 times over a four day period for two hours at a time, or 9 times over an eight day period for four hours at a time.

Does load shedding affect Internet speed?

Why is load shedding 4 hours
We are currently in the process of investigating the feasibility of including an extra hour in the daily load shedding schedule. This extra hour is needed to allow for customers to be manually switched back on after load shedding has occurred. This is a resource-intensive exercise and we are currently exploring all options to make this process more efficient.
The current bout of load shedding is a result of the insufficient national energy supply to meet the high demand. The electric grid is overloaded and cannot meet the demand, which results in rationing of electricity through load shedding. This is a critical situation that needs to be addressed immediately.
What do you do during load shedding at night?

-Take time to meditate: Use the power outage as an opportunity to slow down and focus on your breath.
-Soak in a bubble bath: If you have candles, use them to create a relaxing ambiance for a baths. If not, simply enjoy the peace and quiet.
-Read out loud: Choose a book that everyone will enjoy and take turns reading aloud.
-Play a game
It is important to have a backup plan for power outages. Permanent generators can keep the lights on for 72 to 120 hours on a single fuel tank. Batteries can last for a minimum of four hours if the site has no permanent generator and two hours if the site has a fixed generator.
Do hospitals have load shedding
However, it appears that this is not the case in Gauteng, where several hospitals are still being affected by load shedding. This is despite the fact that the province is home to some of the country’s largest and most important hospitals.
